Major Western Disturbance to Impact J&K from the Evening of February 25 to 28.

Srinagar, Feb 24(QNS): A major Western Disturbance is set to impact Jammu and Kashmir from the evening of February 25, bringing heavy snowfall Higher reaches of Kashmir, according to MeT Director Mukhtar Ahmad.

Ahmad stated that this would be the season’s most significant weather event, likely leading to widespread snowfall in the higher reaches and moderate to heavy precipitation in the plains. The weather system is expected to disrupt travel, especially along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway and other key routes.

Authorities have advised residents to stay prepared for possible disruptions in essential services. Tourists and travelers are urged to check weather updates before planning their journeys. The MeT department will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates accordingly.(QNS)
