Srinagar, April 11(QNS): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather warning for multiple states, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and hailstorm activity during the Evening to night hours of Friday, April 11.
According to the IMD, the affected regions include Punjab, Haryana, East Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and South Odisha.
Gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour are expected to sweep through these areas, with localized hailstorms likely to cause damage to crops, vehicles, and infrastructure.
