One more militant has been killed in a gunfight with government forces taking the death toll of militants to three in Aadkhara village of Imam Sahab in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said that a joint team of army, CRPF and SOG launched cordon and search operation in Adkhara area of Imam Sahib after having credible input about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the forces intensified the searches, the militants opened fire on them triggering off a gunfight, they said.
A senior police official confirmed the killing of three militants in a gunfight so far. “Their identities and affiliations are being ascertained,” he added.
One army soldier has also sustained injuries during the course of the gunfight, he added.
The authorities have snapped mobile Internet service in the entire south Kashmir.
