A complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama and Shopian districts of south Kashmir on Saturday to mourn the death of three Hizbul Mujahideen militants.

Reports said that all shops and other commercial establishments are closed in the districts while public transport remained off the roads.

They said that people from the Shopian, Pulwama and its neighboring districts are visiting the houses of the militants to offer condolences to the families.

Sources said that heavy contingents of government forces were deployed at sensitive locations in the districts to maintain law and order.

Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants identified as  Lateef Ahmad Dar alias Tiger of Dogripora Pulwama, Tariq Ahmad Sheikh alias Mufti Waqar of Moolu Chitragam, Shopian, and Shariq Ahmad Nengroo of Chotigam Shopian were killed in an early morning encounter with forces in Imam Sahib village on Friday.
