Sopore, March 24: In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police have arrested one drug peddler and recovered Contraband Substances from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Watergam led by IC PP Watergam PSI Aijaz Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad. Shri. Abdul Raqeeb Malik-JKPS and SHO PS Dangiwacha Insp. Aijaz Ahmad, during patrolling at Watergam, apprehended one person namely Mohammad Jamal Gojree S/O Ghulam Ahmad Gojree R/O Watergam Rafiabad.
During the search Police Party was able to recover 696 grams of contraband charas powder like substance and 34 grams of charas like substance from his possession.
In this regard, case FIR No. 29/2025 under relevant sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
