The event, which saw a massive turnout, was held at the YMCA grounds in Royapettah and was reportedly organised by his political party. According to Free Press Journal, imams from 15 mosques across Chennai were invited, and arrangements were made to accommodate nearly 3,000 people. Reports suggest that Vijay observed a full day of fasting, adhering to Islamic customs, before hosting a feast for the gathered devotees.
Photos and videos from the event have since gone viral on social media, capturing Vijay in moments of prayer and community bonding. His gesture has been widely appreciated, with fans lauding his efforts to embrace diverse cultural traditions.
Vijay is actively preparing for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, where he is expected to contest independently.
