Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have solved a hit-and-run case in Srinagar by arresting the erring driver.
“On 24.09.2018 during evening time, an old man was mowed down by an unknown vehicle, who died later in the hospital. The deceased was identified as Syed Muzafer Shah S/o Syed Raza Shah R/o Sharibhat, Zadibal,” said a spokesman.
He said the accused driver was nabbed after through investigation and CCTV footage of the incident.
“The accused has been identified as Akhtar Rasool Rather S/o Ghulam Rasool Rather R/o Margalari Budgam and vehicle registered as JK05A 6921,” said the spokesman.
The police have taken the accused into custody for further proceedings, he said.
