Srinagar, Jan 18: Police launched an anti-smoking drive in the bustling Lal Chowk area to ensure adherence to public health laws and promote a smoke-free environment. The campaign focused on raising awareness among the public about the harmful effects of smoking, particularly in public spaces, and enforcing compliance with anti-smoking regulations.
According to the News Agency – Quick News Service (QNS) During the drive, police officers inspected various locations & a fine of ₹200 was imposed on those found smoking in public places. Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining public spaces free from smoking to protect citizens’ health and create a healthier environment.
The Srinagar Police reiterated their commitment to public health and urged people to cooperate in their efforts to make the city smoke-free. The initiative received appreciation from residents, who welcomed the move as a step towards a cleaner and healthier Srinagar.(QNS)
