Srinagar: Due to interaction of a westerly winds( Western Disturbance) and Easterly Winds (Monsoon currents) the state has been receiving light to moderate rain, at times very heavy downpour(at isolated pockets of all the three regions) from 24th evening.
This has made the soil fully saturated and this led to landslide, flash flood in local Nallahs, other vulnerable pockets, especially in Hilly terrain. This is a regular feature especially during Monsoon season(June-Sept).
Today’s weather:Generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate Rain at scattered places of all three regions.
Forecast for nxt 1 week: Significant decrease in Rainfall till 31st July from later this afternoon. Expect Increase in Rainfall from 1-3rd Aug.
