A tourist died while three others were injured after a vehicle they were travelling on was hit by a boulder near Ramsoo on Jammu-Srinagar highway on Sunday.

An official said that the tourist vehicle was on way from Srinagar to Jammu when the mishap took place today morning

“The vehicle was carrying 12 tourists from Maharashtra. When the vehicle reached near Ramsoo police station it got hit by a big boulder resulting in death of a tourist and injuries to three others,” the official said.

He identified the deceased tourist as Sunil Vishnupanth Kathe (43) son of Vishnupanth Kathe resident of Gate No: 514-B, Plot No-34, Ashok Nagar Road Versavarkar Nagar district Nasik, Maharashtra.

The three injured tourists were identified as Manisha Sunil Kathe (39) wife of Sunil Vishnupanth Kathe resident of Gate No: 514-B, Plot No-34, Ashok Nagar Road Versavarkar Nagar district Nasik, Maharashtra; Villas Anand Kumar (43) son of Anand Kumar resident of resident of Gate No: 514-B, Plot No-34, Ashok Nagar Road Versavarkar Nagar district Nasik, Maharashtra; Mayuri Kumber daughter of Kalish Kumber (17) resident of Gate No: 514-B, Plot No-34, Ashok Nagar Road Versavarkar Nagar district Nasik, Maharashtra.

The injured were admitted to Ramsoo hospital for treatment.
