Barely few hours after their abduction, suspected militants set free two of the three persons kidnapped Friday evening from a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police official said that Riyaz Ahmad Wagay, son of Ab Hameed and Zahid Ahmad son of Ali Mohammad were set free at around 8 pm.
Wagay and Ahmad were among the three persons abducted by suspected militants earlier in the day from their native village of Reban.
The whereabouts of the third abductee Basharat Ahmad, a former Special Police Officer were not known when this report was being filed.
Pertinently, during last week as many as nine persons were abducted from the district. Of them seven were later set free while two–Huzaif Ashraf of Manzgam Kuttay and Nadeem Manzoor of Safanagri — were killed. One of the released abductee was shot and injured by his captors.
