Srinagar, Jan 16: A weak Western Disturbance (WD) is currently influencing parts of Jammu and Kashmir, bringing wintry conditions to several regions. Under its impact, light to moderate snowfall is expected over the higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley, including the popular tourist destinations of Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Doodhpatri, and Pahalgam, during the next 12 hours, An Independent weather forecaster Aadil Moqbool told Quick News Service (QNS)
Similarly, the higher altitudes of Jammu, including Doda, Kishtwar, and Banihal, are likely to witness light snowfall today.
For the plains of Kashmir, scattered light snow showers are anticipated in some areas during the same period.
However, relief from the current spell of precipitation is on the horizon, as dry weather conditions are expected to return tomorrow, providing respite to residents and travelers alike.
Residents and tourists are advised to exercise caution while traveling to higher altitudes due to potential slippery roads and reduced visibility. Authorities remain on alert to ensure safety and smooth movement in affected regions.(QNS)
