Srinagar, April 6(QNS): A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to impact Jammu and Kashmir starting from April 8, according to Weatherman. The approaching weather system is expected to bring light to moderate rain and snow, particularly over the higher reaches of the Union Territory.

Weatherman stated that the disturbance is likely to persist for several days, leading to a drop in temperatures and possible disruptions in transportation, especially over mountainous regions.

“From April 8 onwards, we are expecting scattered to fairly widespread precipitation across Jammu and Kashmir. Higher elevations may receive snowfall, while the plains could see rainfall accompanied by thunder,”  weatherman said.

Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and take necessary precautions, especially those traveling through vulnerable routes such as the Srinagar-Jammu and Srinagar-Leh highways.

The Western Disturbance is part of a seasonal weather pattern commonly observed during spring, often bringing sudden changes in weather across North India.

Further updates will be issued as the system draws closer.(QNS)
