Three fresh petitions were filed before a Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan challenging the highway ban for two days.

The bench observed that the issue will be taken on accounts of both security and on account of problems faced by common people.

“The court is likely going to take up the case tomorrow as counsels who challenged the ban informed court that the only  highway which connects people to different routes is being closed by authorities without any legal justification,” sources said.

It was demonstrated before court that a person who is ill or for the purpose of education or some other reason is being let to suffer by this ban. “It was further stated before court that there are no network of roads or options available for people of Kashmir to travel across the state.”
