Clashes broke out between the govt forces and residents of Palhalan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area.
Reports said that during the exercise of the door to door search in Tantraypora Mohallah of Palhalan, scores of the locals started pelting stones towards the govt forces.
The forces retaliated with tear gas shelling, triggering off clashes which were going on when this report was filed.
However, it was not immediately known if the operation was launched on the basis of inputs about the militants or a daily routine exercise
