Srinagar, Dec 09: Whereas it has been observed that a significant number of vehicles currently plying on the roads in Kashmir Valley have unpaid challans pending on the Parivahan platform and the Virtual Court portals

Whereas despite repeated appeals to the general public and vehicle owners/drivers to clear their outstanding challans, there has been minimal compliance, and the number of unpaid challans has either remained the same and has shown a further increase. 

Now, therefore, through this notice, the General public and concerned violators/drivers, particularly those with vehicles having unpaid challans on the Parivahan and Virtual Court portals, are hereby directed to pay the outstanding fines. Payments can be made online or by approaching the Lok Adalat benches being held at the District Court, Srinagar, up to 14/12/2024.

Further, it is hereby informed that post 16/12/2024, the Traffic Police will initiate strict legal action against vehicles with multiple unpaid challans, as per the mandate of law. 

Such action may include the seizure of vehicles and the suspension of related documents (e.g. Registration Certificate, Fitness Certificate and Permit) in cases of non-compliance.
