Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has strongly condemned the prolonging of the incarceration of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and many others who are languishing in different jails and police stations.

While terming these arrests and detentions as arbitrary, undemocratic and unethical, JKLF said that JKLF chairman is in police custody from 22nd February 2019, while as JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is also languishing in police custody from last many days.

JKLF district president Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya) is lodged at Srinagar central jail while as District President Gulzar Pahalwan is at Budgam police station.

Another JKLF activist Nadeem Ahmad of Pampore has been shifted to Pulwama jail. Moreover JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri is lodged at Kot-Balwal jail along with lifer Sheikh Nazir Ahmad who is in jail from the last many years.

JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt was recently slapped with the second consecutive PSA and shifted to Islamabad Sub-Jail. Another JKLF senior Ghulam Nabi Kashmiri whose PSA was quashed by high court recently has also been shifted to Islamabad Jail on some new concocted charges.

While condemning these arbitrary arrests and police tactics to prolong the incarceration of these inmates, JKLF said that spree of arrests amounts to suppression of political dissent by force which is highly undemocratic, unethical and arbitrary.
