Srinagar, July 12: Seven Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel including an officer and a driver were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at Dignibal, Alestang area of Srinagar outskirts in central Kashmir on Friday.

Reports said that the vehicle (Bus bearing registration number JK02w-2677) carrying ITBP personnel skidded off the road and turned turtle at Dignibal, Alestang today in late afternoon. “In the mishap, seven ITBP men of 43 Bn and the driver of the bus sustained injuries”.

All the injured were taken to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment, they said.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and identified the injured as Head Constable Chotay Lal, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Rajesh Singh, constable Pawan Singh, constable Doran Singh, constable Mahesh Kumar, constable Shiv Kumar, constable Mukesh Kumar, Farooq Ahmed Rather (Driver) son of  Ghulam Mohd Rather of Habakadal.

The officer said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations taken up. (GNS)
