Army soldier injured in the gunfight
Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday identified one of the militants slain in Arizal gunfight as Mukhtar Ahmad Khan of Brass Arizal village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A police spokesman said that two militants were killed in the gunfight that broke out early today.
“…it is further informed that the dead bodies of the two militants were retrieved from the site of encounter along with arms and ammunition.
One of the killed militants has been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Khan S/o Abdul Ahad Khan, a local resident of Brass Arizal Budgam,” he said. The spokesman said the identity of the other slain militant is still being ascertained.
“They were both involved in many attacks on security establishments in the area. Mukhtar was involved in case FIR number 37/2018 under section 307 RPC, 7/27 Arms Act, 16/18 ULAP Act dated 25.03.2018. Besides, they were also involved in many other civilian atrocities,” said the spokesman.
He said an army soldier was also injured in the gunfight. He was evacuated to a hospital for medical attention where his condition is stated to be stable. “Police has registered a case and investigation has started,” he said.
