Srinagar, Feb 28: A day after extending the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami, J&K, by five years, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday declared two factions of Muslim Conference, J&K, as unlawful associations. 

Taking to microblogging site ‘X’, the Home Minister Amit Shah, wrote; “Striking terror networks with undiminished vehemence the government has declared the Muslim Conference Jammu & Kashmir (Sumji faction) and Muslim Conference Jammu & Kashmir (Bhat faction) as Unlawful Associations.”

“These outfits have been engaging in activities against the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.”

“PM @narendramodi Ji’s government is determined to uproot terrorism and anyone involved in unlawful activities (sic.),” concludes the post. 

Notably, the decision has come just a day after the centre extended the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami, J&K, by another five years.
