A teenager’s body was lying on the hospital bed, as an unidentified, until a man walks in to find out it is his son.
The killed civilian was in Sirnoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district was identified as Aqib Bashir from Prichoo Pulwama.
Aqib, a class 8th student, was one of the seven civilians killed when the government forces opened fire at the protesters on Saturday morning after a gunfight broke out in the area.
As per the eyewitnesses at the hospital Aqib’s body was lying in the hospital bed for a long time as “unidentified” until a passerby stepped into the hospital, as everyone else. “The man upon checking the face fainted saying, ‘He is my son’,” eyewitnesses were quoted by The Kashmiriyat.
Seven civilians were shot dead while as sixty five others injured as Government Forces opened indiscriminate fire upon protesters in Sirnoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
During the gunfight, youth started to protest, shouting pro-Independence and anti-India slogans, marching towards the gunfight site. It was then when the forces in the area fired pellets, tear gas shells and bullets upon the youth in which dozens were injured.
Seven civilians killed, 60 injured, in Pulwama gunfight clashes
As per reports, over 60 civilians have been injured among which some have been referred to hospitals in Srinagar.
They were injured in government forces action near the site of the gunfight at Sirnoo area, in which three militants are dead.
One army personnel succumbed to his injuries.
The killed youth were identified as Shahbaz Ali, resident of Monghama village, Suhail Ahmad of Bellow, Liyaqat Ahmad from Parigam, Amir Ahmad Palla of Ashminder and Abid Hussain Lone of Kareemabad and Tawseef Ahmad Mir of Urchersoo Pulwama district.
One civilian was identified as Abid Hussain Lone, an MBA pass out from Indonesia.
