Committee constituted to enquire the matter, says BDO
Srinagar, Nov 15: A public Bathroom constructed by RDD last year under 14th FC has been allegedly sold by a person in Srigufwara area of Anantnag.
Locals from Gallan Khiram in Anantnag district alleged that that a local person has sold a bathroom constructed by RDD last year to a person who is living in the village since last one month.
They told news agency that the bathroom was constructed by Rural Development Department last year near local Masjid and how can one sell public property
The person who has purchased it said that he has been residing here since last one month and has purchased 10 Marla land along with this Bathroom for Rs 3, 35000.
He said that nobody told me about it as of now and if locals want to take this land, they must provide him any alternative site
Locals demanded that government must investigate the matter at an earliest and take action against the person involved in it.
Meanwhile, Block Development Officer (BDO) Dachnipora Gazi Abdullah told KNO that once he heard about this incident, he has taken cognizance of the incident and an enquiry committee has been constituted and investigation has been started.
Anyone who will found guilty after proper investigation, auction as per law will be initiated against him, he said.
“In view of some media reports emerging on social media, a bathroom constructed by Rural Development Department Block Dachnipora has been allegedly sold by some person,” reads an order issued by BDO in this regard. “In this connection a committee head by Assistant Engineer REW Sub Division Dachnipora is here by constituted to enquire into the matter. A detailed enquiry report in this regard be submitted to the office of undersigned within two days positively.”
As per order committee members include Shabir Ahmad Reshi Panchayat Inspector, Firdous Ahmad Mir Junior Engineer and Aadil Ahmad Ganie Panchayat Inspector.(KNO)
