Former MLA Abid Hussain Ansari on Saturday resigned from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He announced his resignation on Twitter and said that the PDP has failed the people on all fronts.

“I hereby announce my resignation from @jkpdp as the party has failed the people of J&K on all fronts. I don’t want to be a part of the lies and deception being perpetuated by the party. Hv sent a detailed letter of resignation to @MehboobaMufti. Will soon interact with the media,” Ansari wrote on twitter.

Earlier, former finance minister and PDP MLA Haseeb Drabu and Abid’s nephew Imran Ansari had resigned from the party.

Imran joined the People’s Conference (PC) led by Sajad Gani Lone, while Drabu is yet to any new party.
