The weather along the NHW is cloudy presently. The commuters are advised to confirm status of the road from Traffic Control Units at Srinagar, Ramban, Jammu and PCR Jammu/Srinagar before starting journey on the NHW as chances of occurring of sudden landslides/shooting stones at vulnerable/landslide prone areas during night hours cannot be ruled out.

Keeping in view the over all condition of the road, especially between Jawahar Tunnel and Ramban coupled with narrow width of the NHW at some places, allowing two way movement of vehicles on the NHW is not feasible.

Therefore, subject to fair weather and good condition of the road, in order to facilitate the smooth movement of Darbar move convoy from Srinagar to Jammu, there shall be only one way movement of LMVs/Passenger Vehicles on the National Highway from Srinagar to Jammu. However, the commuters are requested/advised to avoid travelling during night hours.

Moreover, the commuters are advised to exhibit highest order of driving discipline on the NHW in general and while crossing Chenani-Nashri Tunnel in particular. They shall avoid overtaking, over speeding, doubling, especially inside the tunnel and adhere to the road signs and instructions/ Do’s and Don’ts displayed on either sides of the Tunnel for their safe crossing and hassle free movement of traffic inside the tunnel tubes.

No movement of passenger/load carriers, and convoys of Army, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB etc. shall be allowed from opposite side in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the NHW/safety of passengers/Darbar Move employees.

Commuters are requested/advised that vehicles are not parked in any landslide/ vulnerable zone of NHW, especially from Jawahar Tunnel – Ramban and Jawahar Tunnel-Lower Munda under any circumstances. The said road stretches are vulnerable/slide prone zones and therefore should be kept free from all sorts of traffic to avoid any eventuality.
