Two shells fired from across the Line of Control (LoC) landed near the trade center in Chakan da Bagh area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday as the armies of India and Pakistan targeted each other.
A senior police official said that two mortar shells landed near the trade facilitation centre soon after the trucks from the other side reached there. However, there was no loss of life or the property, he said.
“The employees and all the people were shifted to the underground bunker built at the trade centre,” he said.
SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral said two shells landed in the vicinity of the trade centre. “The people there have been shifted to the underground bunker,” he said.
The armies of the two countries exchanged heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control today morning.
