Srinagar, May 10: Police on Friday recovered a body under mysterious conditions from river Jhelum in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports reaching GNS said that some locals spotted the body inside the Jhelum near Galander area of Pampore today morning and accordingly informed police station concerned.
Soon after being informed, a police team reached the spot and fished out the body from the river, they said.
A police official while confirming it said that the male body (aged around 34 years old) was taken to sub district hospital Pampore for medical formalities including postmortem.
He said that the identity of the deceased is being ascertained.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations taken up,” the officer said.
