DG Border Roads praises efforts of his men, lauds their achievement
Srinagar, Apr 01: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) reopened the strategic Zojila Pass in a record-breaking 33 days on Tuesday.
Ladakh MP, Haji Hanifa Jan along with DG BRO, Corps Commander 14 Corps and 15 Corps flagged off the Vehicles from Srinagar side to Kargil.
Talking to reporters Lt General Raghu Srinivasan, Director General Border Roads (DGBR), said that BRO men worked hard to throw open the crucial Zojila Pass, in record time of 33 days.
Pertinently, the Zojila pass connecting Ladakh with the rest of the country, usually remains closed for several months during winter due to heavy snowfall and avalanche threats.
The DGBR said that BRO workers every year work against all the odds to clear the treacherous terrain, where the risk of avalanches poses a constant challenge.
Praising the efforts of his team Lt General Raghu Srinivasan said that their determination led to the early reopening of the pass, ensuring smoother movement for both civilians and the armed forces stationed in the region.(KNO)
