SAMBA: A female child died after hanging herself under mysterious circumstances at her home in village Harsath area of Ghagwal in district Samba late last night.
She has been identified as Riya, 10, daughter of Govind Sharma resident of Village Harsath Ghagwal. The incident took place during the intervening night at village Harsath Ghagwal under the jurisdiction of Ghagwal Police Station. She hanged herself at her residence under mysterious circumstances.
When the family members saw her they immediately brought her to District Hospital Samba but the doctors declared her as brought dead. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for autopsy.
A team of doctors of the District Hospital Samba conducted postmortem, after which the body was handed over to legal heirs for her last rites.
When contacted SHO Ghagwal, Rajeev Kumar said “during the intervening night, I have received a message through Police Control Room Samba that one girl from Harsath Ghagwal was rushed to Hospital who had hanged herself.
After receipt of the information I sent Investigation Officer to the hospital”. In this regard Police has registered a case and started investigation.
He said the last rites of the girl were performed today and police has started investigation to ascertain whether it is a suicide case or there was a foul play in it.
