The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Wednesday took sou-moto cognizance of minor girl’s rape case in Sumbal, Bandipora and sought report from Inspector General of Police Kashmir by Friday.
The division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan while taking up the matter through video conferencing, remarking to the State that such horrific incidents are to be seriously dealt with.
“The children are to be protected from such gruesome and violent incidents,” bench remarked.
The Court sought report from State Police through counsel, Senior Additional Advocate General (AAG), B A Dar regarding the incident.
Dar submitted before the Court that he will seek all the developments related to the incident by today evening and will accordingly inform the court about the matter.
