In its continuous efforts to eradicate the menace of drug peddling from Srinagar city and its subsequent consumption,Police Station Khanyar arrested a drug peddler during naka checking at Khanyar Chowk.
During a naka checking at Khanyar Chowk, police party from police station Khanyar led by SHO Khanyar Shri Parvaiz Ahmad apprehended a drug peddler namely Owais Ahmad Gilla S/o Ab Ahad Gilla R/o Habba Kadal and recovered 183 tablets of banned spasmoproxyvon plus.The accused was arrested & contraband seized.
In this connection FIR No 1/19 u/ s 8/21 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Khanyar Investigation taken up.
Apart from punitive action against the accused police has started counselling of the accused to help him to shun the path of drugs.
People of the area have hailed the police action.
