Muzaffar Parray (Ex MLC)

Srinagar, Dec 29: Former MLC  advocate Muzaffar Parray on  Thursday resigned from the  Democratic Azad Party  led by former J&K chief  minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Advocate Muzaffar Parray said Congress needs him at this juncture, but his personal relations with Ghulam Nabi Azad will not be affected.

In a written statement issued earlier, he said that he has tendered resignation from the post of member of the DAP working committee as it had been done without his  consent.

“I have been associated with AICC right from 1975. Congress had fielded me its parliamentary candidate from Baramulla-Kupwara parliamentary constituency in which Indira Gandhi was a star campaigner, Late Rajiv Gandhi, KC Pant, Mohsina  Kidwai  & other  senior leaders of Congress were  campaigners.”

“I have been three times State Vice President and one time senior vice president, Chairman then TAC Sopore also. So my conscience doesn’t allow me to betray Congress party at this crucial juncture,” he said.(KNO)
