Government forces on Monday night laid concertina wires and installed generator sets for lighting purpose in Hardu Dalwan village of Pakherpora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district where earlier a search and cordon operation was launched.

Sources told news agency GNS that additional reinforcements of army and Special Operation Group of police have been rushed to Lawaypora area of Hardu Dalwan area as chances of the encounter between forces and militants believed to be holed up are rife.

“Two to three Jaish-e-Mohammad militants are believed to be trapped in the area”. A police officer also confirmed it and said the operation in the area is underway.

Earlier at around 4 pm, army’s 23 PARA and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area following specific information about the presence of militants.
