Srinagar, Jan 24: In a positive turn of events, the Meteorological Department has issued a new prediction indicating potential snowfall in Kashmir.

Despite ruling out significant weather activity until January 24, the latest forecast suggests a change in the weather pattern.

A weather official shared that dry conditions are expected to persist until January 24, with mild Western Disturbances (WDs) approaching on January 16 and 20 evenings.

While these disturbances might bring generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow over isolated middle and higher reaches during January 16th and 20th nights, the overall outlook remained unremarkable until January 24.

However, the official hinted at the possibility of light rain and snow at scattered places from January 25-27, based on indications from various models. Further updates will be provided in the coming days.
