17 April:

Possibility of a short shower at a few places till evening. Overall nothing significant is expected with mostly dry weather.

Towards evening/night rain can occur at many places (chances 40%)

18 & 19 April:

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected at most places in plains of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts may not experience significant rainfall on 18 April.

The Western Disturbance can also cause flash floods in some areas. However, there is no threat of flood.

Upper reaches are once again expected to turn white as moderate to heavy snowfall can occur at many places in the higher elevations.

Other Impacts:

1. This has the potential to make some grounds unsuitable for EID prayers later due to potential wetness.

2. Mughal Road, Bandipora-Gurez Road, Sadhna Top and Zojila pass may experience moderate to heavy snowfall which may lead to closure of these roads.

3. Landslides/shooting stones are possible on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

4. A decrease of over 10°C from the regular daytime temperature can occur during the period.

20 & 21 April:

Some places may continue to receive showers on these 2 days as well. However, weather activity will be lower as compared to 18 & 19 April.

There are chances that there may not be any significant weather activity on 21 April.

22 April onwards:

Dry and sunny weather is expected.
