A teacher was placed under suspension for allegedly thrashing a nine-year-old student yesterday in Qazipora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An official said the teacher was placed under suspension after being found guilty of giving corporal punishment to a student of 3rd standard.

“It has come to my notice that a student of your school was given corporal punishment. It has also been learnt that the said student was hospitalized,” read an order issued by ZEO Quil zone Bandipora.

It further reads that, “Till pending enquiry you are placed under suspension with immediate effect.”

Momin, a student of government middle school Qazipora was on Saturday hospitalized after he was allegedly thrashed a teacher for whistling in the classroom.
He was later hospitalised after receiving injuries in his both ears.
