KTA advises traders,transporters to follow Covid SOPs

Srinagar Sept, 20: Reacting to the statement made by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Muhammad Aijaz Asad on Monday that the administration in a few days will impose strict lockdown in areas where SoPs are violated.

“Some areas are continuously violating Covid SoPs. We can’t make the entire district hostile for violation being done by a few areas. We are planning to impose a strict lockdown in the areas that violate Covid SoPs,”DC said.

Amid fears of a third wave of Covid 19, Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) President Ajaz Shahdhar has expressed concern over the increase of Covid 19 cases in Srinagar. 

Ajaz Shahdhar said that businessmen, shopkeepers and industrialists have already suffered losses of over Rs 50,000 crore during the last two years and now when it seemed that the Covid situation was improving and business activities would gear up the increase of Covid 19 cases in Srinagar is a matter of concern. 

President KTA urged the transporters besides traders to prepare themselves to adopt covid appropriate behaviour, adherence to guidelines and standard operating procedures. Shahdhar said that Traders cannot afford another lockdown, and only by adopting and implementing precautionary measures is key to avoid lockdown. 

Earlier today DC Srinagar along with SSP Srinagar conducted surprise checks in Srinagar areas and found many malls, business establishments and a few shops violating the Covid SoPs.(CNS)
